I painted this from a photograph of Natalie Portman just for practice.

Corel Painter:
used a pencil to sketch the outline and main features first, then used mostly Bristle Oils 20 brush for the rest of the job

i have always been a little skeptical of corel but this is really a wonderful piece
i have seen so man corel paintings that just look like photoshop filters but this one really tips the scales in the other direction.
i love how you can see the brushstrokes and the texture in the background and then the sharper, detailed features in the face.
really well done.

so you use corel painter? this piece is super. i'm guessing you use a wacom tablet? i can't imagine it being done with a mouse...
